Neflix’s new documentary American Murder has horrified viewers as it tells the true story of Chris Watts, the evil father and husband who murdered his heavily pregnant wife Shan’ann and daughters Bella, four, and Celeste, three, in 2018.
The devastating show includes an autopsy report that shows his family fought for their lives as Chris killed them in cold blood for no real reason.
Chris, who was having an affair at the time, strangled his wife and hid her body in a shallow grave, and smothered his daughters and hid their bodies in an oil tank.
He even sent messages to his wife’s phone pretending to ask her where she was.
In chilling footage, a nervous-looking Chris can be seen desperately pacing around with the police, faking concerned for the whereabouts of his family.
“I hope that she is somewhere safe right now, with the kids, but because she has just taken off, I don’t know,” Chris told officers.
“But if someone has her, they are not safe, I want them back now.”
The interviewer asked: “This might be a tough question, but did you get into an argument before?”
Chris replied: “It wasn’t an argument , we had an emotional conversation, but I’ll leave it at that, but I just want them back.”
Chris was arrested and failed a polygraph test that indicated he was involved in their disappearance.
He then changed his story to claim Shan’ann had killed the children after he tried to split from her, and he then strangled her and hid their bodies.
He finally confessed to all three murders, and he was sentenced to five life sentences, two consecutive and two concurrent, without the possibility of parole.
The documentary explains Shan’ann had purple and black bruising and what appeared to be a traumatic injury on the left side of her face.
Bella fought for her life and bit her tongue as her father, who admitted she begged him “daddy, no”, murdered her.
Her tiny body was then scraped as he pushed her through a hatch in the oil tank, leading to “green black fluid” filling her tummy.
One devastated viewer tweeted: “In tears. Those babies. #AmericanMurder”.
Another penned: “#americanmurder is the hardest thing I’ve ever watched. Feel physically sick”.
“I just don’t get it. She asked if he was cheating and he lied. WHY LIE? WHY MURDER YOUR FAMILY?? This is infuriating. #AmericanMurder,” asked another.
“Just watched the new Netflix doc American Murder, absolutely intriguing from the start. Chris Watts is a piece of s**t.#AmericanMurderTheFamilyNextDoor #AmericanMurder,” remarked a fourth.
